Understanding Arizona’s Paid Sick Time Law

Many business owners and managers are unaware of the intricacies of Arizona’s Fair Wages & Healthy Families Act, which regulates minimum wage and mandatory paid sick time for employees. All Arizona employers, even those with only one part-time employee, need to be familiar with this law. The law’s requirements, design options for a compliant paid sick time or paid time off policy, and penalties for non-compliance, will be discussed.

Speaker: Laura Hamblin is a licensed Arizona attorney based in Prescott, with two human resources, certifications, and years of experience as a corporate HR executive. She specializes in employment law and HR consulting, and primarily works with small employers to help them comply with the sea of employment laws and implement effective HR practices. Her goal is to establish proactive measures for her clients to prevent litigation.
